As the Spring turns into Summer and people, yes and your pets too spend more time outside, the threat of mosquito’s and mosquito transmitted viruses increases. Mosquito’s are known to carry West Nile, TripleE, and now Zika virus and for pets Dog Heartworm. With the placement of a bat house, and attracting bats to your area a single bat can consume 600 to 900 night time insect per hour including mosquito’s. That’s an average of 3,500 insects per night or 25,000 per week. NOT bad for one bat.That’s a lot of Skittles for a person.
