A bat zone is geographic area that is organized by temperature averages. The lower 48 states are broken down into 4 zones.

These bat zones determine the bat house color and the number of ventilation slots. It also determines how much direct sunlight your bat house should receive.

It is important to purchase a bat house that is designed specifically for your geographic location. Buying a bat house that is suited for your region will reduce failure.
