Yesterday, officials announced White-nose Syndrome (WNS) has reached Alabama. This devastating wildlife disease was found in the Russell Cave Complex in the northeastern corner of the state after biologists conducting a bat survey found numerous bats with the white fungus that causes WNS on their skin. Remember, 2012 is the year of the bat so get involved, learn more about bats and see what you can do to help promote bat conservation in your town.
